April is no different, as there are quite a few great events taking place. Take a look at some things to do near Brickell this month, and go out and have fun.
The Longines Global Champions Tour
Every April, Miami Beach hosts talented riders and their horses at The Longines Global Champions Tour. This event that runs from April 13th to the 15th marks the official kicks of the second leg of the 15-event Longines Global Championship. Horses and their experienced riders showcase their jumping skills right on the sands of South Beach offering a real interesting experience for all in attendance. The world’s top riders and horses compete in the championship to gain valuable points in the overall Championship season battle. Spectators are granted complimentary access to seating around the arena, on a first-come, first-served basis.
The Miami-Dade County Fair & Exposition
The Miami-Dade County Fair & Exposition is one of the most anticipated yearly events in the Greater Miami area, and runs from March 23rd to April 16th. The fair hosts the Youth Fair, as well as a variety of outdoor and indoor events. The Miami-Dade County Fair & Exposition is the largest fair in Florida, and includes 90 carnival rides, livestock exhibits, agricultural competitions, live concerts, and more. Tickets to the fair start at just $10.
Redland Blues & Barbecue Festival
The Redland Blues & Barbecue Festival takes place at the Fruit & Spice Park in Homestead on April 22nd and 23rd. It may be a little drive from Brickell, but its well worth the drive to get out of the city for a bit. The two-day festival features family-friendly activities, which include pony rides, rides for the kids, and some of the best barbecue in South Florida. General admission is $8 per person; and, children 11 and under can enter the festival for free.
Aids Walk Miami
The annual Aids Walk Miami takes place on April 23rd in Miami Beach. The event consists of a 5K walk-a-thon fundraiser through the famous streets of South Beach. The Aids Walk Miami will benefit over 15,000 individuals living in Miami-Dade and Broward Communities who are infected with or have been affected by AIDS and/or HIV. Get out for a good cause, and enjoy the scenery of Miami Beach.
